Raven: I possess several traits that I believe are valuable to any organization, regardless of industry. Some of these traits include:
Adaptability: I am highly flexible and motivated to adjust to different work demands and business needs.
Tech-savviness: While I am not a coder, I am adept at leveraging technology and the internet to achieve business success.
Autonomy: I excel in roles that require personal ownership and high autonomy, taking initiative to solve problems and achieve goals.
Raven: While I'm committed to pursuing stability and taking on increasing responsibilities as I advance in the corporate ladder within a company, I'm aware that a lot can change over the course of five years. I remain open-minded about different career paths, as long as it enables me to keep striving for excellence. I'm willing to pivot strategies or even industries if necessary to keep on growing professionally.
Raven: I'm a bit of a techno-optimist, and staying on top of the latest trends and innovations is a hobby of mine. I love tinkering with new tools, seeing what they can do, and finding ways to apply them in practical settings. More than that, I'm excited about the potential of technology to continuously change the world for the better. My drive to learn and experiment stems from a genuine enthusiasm for the possibilities that lie ahead, and I'm committed to being part of the technological progress that will continue to transform our lives for the better.
Raven: In my previous role as the Senior Virtual Executive Admin Assistant of my previous company, my manager decided to assign the SEO project to me so that the company website ranks higher on search results and for us to receive more traffic not only on our website but also on our social media accounts and listings on major review sites like Google Business and Yelp.
The situation was quite challenging because I never had any kind of experience with SEO before and I had to juggle it along the other tasks and projects that were already on my plate. There also was limited room for error and a high attention to detail is required when inputting company information because a lot of the listing websites only provides a single try.
To approach the learning process, I first conducted a research on the basics of SEO. I spent time reading through the documentation provided by my manager, watching video tutorials, and exploring online forums to understand its features, functionalities, and best practices for implementation.
Throughout the learning process, I also collaborated closely with my manager, sharing insights and troubleshooting issues together. We established clear communication channels to ensure we were both on the same page regarding the transition plan and any adjustments needed along the way.
This experience taught me the importance of adaptability and proactive learning in navigating technological changes within a fast-paced work environment. It reinforced the value of collaboration and effective communication in achieving shared objectives.
Overall, I view this experience as a proof of my ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms and technologies.
Raven: My way of ensuring clear and effective communication with remote or partially remote teams is I prioritize the use of robust communication platforms such as WhatsApp, Slack, Google Workspace, Notion and other appropriate tools to facilitate seamless interaction and collaboration. Regular check-in meetings should also be scheduled to provide updates, address concerns, and foster team alignment.
I highly value transparency and clarity as I believe they are the fundamental values in communicating with my team mates. I believe a team should establish clear expectations, provide detailed project/task briefs, and encourage open dialogue to ensure everyone understands their roles, responsibilities and what is expected of them.
Raven: As for my goals, I have two main areas of focus:
First, for my professional goals, I wanted to continue growing my skills because I wanted to constantly adapt with all the rapid changes that are happening: not only in terms of business but also in society as a whole.
And second, for my personal goals, I am committed to becoming a better person, not just for my loved ones and those around me, but also for myself. While I recognize that no one is perfect, I am determined to learn, grow, and be more empathetic and compassionate in my interactions with others.
Raven: My top 3 career objectives are:
Team up with a company or individual who values my wide-ranging skills in business and management. I'm looking for a place where my ability to wear many hats is seen as an asset.
Become a greatly competent global talent as I move forward in my career. I'm committed to continually learning and improving, aiming to develop skills that are valuable worldwide.
Keep an open mind about my career path. With AI tools becoming widely available, changes in the work world might happen faster than before. I want to be ready for whatever comes next by staying adaptable in my career choices.
Raven: I believe that conflicts are a natural part of any work environment. When I encounter conflict, depending on the situation, my approach involves:
Remaining Calm: I maintain a calm and composed demeanor. It's important to not to escalate the situation with emotional reactions.
Open Communication: creates an environment where all parties feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings.
Empathize: I try to see the situation from the perspective of all parties involved. This helps in finding common ground.
Problem-Solving: We discuss and evaluate different options to address the conflict.
Escalation if Needed: If a conflict cannot be resolved at the team level, I am prepared to escalate the issue to the appropriate authority or manager, but this is the last resort.
My goal is to approach conflicts with empathy and in a collaborative manner. I want to cultivate an environment where all team members feel safe and supported, encouraging open dialogue and the sharing of diverse perspectives.
Raven: When it comes to stress and pressure, I have developed a few techniques for managing it effectively. I take regular breaks to engage in stress-relieving activities, such as exercise, engaging in my hobbies, or walks, to help refocus my mind. In addition, I prioritize self-care, ensuring that I get enough sleep and eat healthy foods. Finally, keeping my tasks organized and prioritized allows me to manage my stress and workload more effectively. Burnout and stress are definitely scary! To help prevent them from creeping up on me, I'm also always on the hunt for ways to recharge and take care of my mental health. That way, I can make sure I'm always operating at my best.
Raven: The reason I'm no longer with my previous employer was due to the company's declining business conditions, which unfortunately led to layoffs within the virtual administrative team. My junior teammate was immediately laid off, and my own hours and pay were cut in half, leaving my future with the company uncertain. Although the CEO assured me that I could leave without any repercussions if the situation didn't align with my needs, it was still a tough decision to make. Despite having a great working relationship with the owners and appreciating my past company's awesome culture, I realized that as I grow older, stability has become a priority, especially with loved ones to support financially. As much as I could envision a long-term future with them, the risk of continued uncertainty became too high, leading me to make the difficult choice to leave the company.
Raven: When it comes to finding a job that aligns with my values and goals, three key factors stand out: autonomy, flexibility, and a positive work culture. I thrive in an environment that allows for independence and ownership over my work, while also accommodating the balance between professional and personal responsibilities. Furthermore, I appreciate working in a culture that fosters open communication, mutual respect, and psychological safety.
Raven: While I'm always trying to grow and get better at what I do, I know there are always people out there with more experience and skills than me, and I respect that. That's why I made this portfolio – to help you see if I'm the right fit for what you need. I truly believe there's an employer out there looking for someone just like me, or at least pretty close.
Raven: With all the scams going around hitting almost everyone I know left and right, it's easy to doubt the authenticity of what you see on your screen. And trust me, I understand your skepticism! But rest assured, I am a genuine, honest, and trustworthy individual who holds morality in high regard. I believe in the saying: 'Be kind always,' and I would never intentionally cause harm or inconvenience to others. This is a mantra I live by.
Raven: An equity stake is a nice-to-have, but it's not essential for me. My priority is a fair salary and benefits package. Living in the Philippines, owning equity in foreign companies could lead to complex tax situations. While equity might offer future opportunities, right now I'm focused on cash compensation to cover my living expenses. I'd be completely satisfied with a role offering a competitive salary and standard benefits.
Raven: You should hire me because I'm ready to give it my all. I may not be the most experienced candidate, but what I lack in years, I make up for in enthusiasm and willingness to learn. I'm the kind of person who shows up every day ready to work hard and contribute in any way I can think of. I'm honest about what I know and what I don't, and I'm always eager to grow. If you're looking for someone who's dedicated and reliable, that's exactly what I offer. If you give me a chance, I promise you won't just be hiring an employee – you'll be gaining someone who will pour their heart into making your company better every single day. Choose me, and you'll see how I'll be one of those who cares the most.
Raven: Absolutely! I'm very flexible and can adapt to your preferred work hours and local time zone.
Raven: I can start today or tomorrow! I have full availability and can start working immediately! :)
